need help diagnosing

95 RF900r sometimes when the bike sits 4 a couple of days and i fire it up,it has a dead miss and it pops out of the exhaust. If i let it warm up,or ride it 4 a while it smooths out and runs great.Yesterday it took about 12 miles for it to smooth out.My thinking is a sticky valve, but i really don't know what the hell i'm doing. My last bike didn't require valve jobs.I've only had this bike 1 month so i don't know when the last valve job was done.Thnx in advance!

+1 on the plug wires.

Did it do it before you changed the plugs? Are they gapped correctly?

When Gasman asks if you checked the plugs, he means if you checked them for fouling, incorrect gaps, correct type, and any differences in color. Also, is the poor running at idle, high rpm, or all over?

Yes sir NW.

Always start with the basics. Don't assume just cause you just replaced them that they are fine.

If you had to ride 12 miles to get it to smooth out then you probably have alot of gas washing down your cylinder walls into your oil thinning it out. Not a good idea, keep an eye on your oil level!
