removal gixxer 600 front wheel

I need to fit new tyres(tires?) on a 1979 suzuki gsxr 600. I am having difficuly in removing the wheel. Doed the wheel nut the opposite side ti the pin just left hand turn off, because though I have put release spray on the back of the nut over a period of 2 days, the nut refuses to budge. Is there something else I need to do or is the nute just frozen on. Any help on this please ? Regards PS I need the bike for work and the tyre is now unlawful for road use.:

Do you mean 1997 GSXR? There are axle pinch bolts on the bottom of the forks. Loosen them and then turn the axle bolt. Should come out.

Actually I think you want to leave one side all tightened. Loosen the other side to seperate the 2 halves and then loosen the other sides pinch bolts. At least that is the way I've always did it. Escpecially if you don't have the other sides SUPER large allen.
