still wondering?

just look at the tenth digit of your vin number. its on the neck of the frame. if its a letter just remember this, the letter z is a 2000 model, the letter y is a 99 model, the letter x is a 98 model, and so on.

Could this be the same bike that Hawkoar was going to buy? Same price and a Yami? That would be too ironic.

That trick will only get you close. There is no code year for I, O, Q, and a couple others. That also only goes back to 1980 - A. If it is a number then it is with 6 years old, 2003 - 3, etc.

So C means it's a 1982? Then it could be a Virago, Seca, Vision, Maxim, XS, RD, DT, YZ (could be a dirt bike), or Venture.

Keep in mind that is an automotive style VIN. Which is 16 digits. and again this will get you close, but if i'm correct then yes c - 1982.

1982 Yamaha Maxim 653 cc is what it said when I put in the VIN... dunno if that helps

kinda like this one on craigslist?

as far as the carbs I'd take em off and clean em. no idea about the spewage maybe sum1 with more mechanical experience will chime in.
