1999 Zx6r

I'm thinking about buying a 1999ZX6R from a guy the bike had a problem with second gear he said it was loose i'm not a trans man but what he said seems
to be true. The motor is strong and the other gears seem fine what should i do buy it or pass and how expensive is a trans job?

How many miles? Sounds like abuse or neglect to me... sure to rear it's ugly head somewhere sooner or later...

His lack of description is reason to have that bike checked out first. If second gear is gone then that's a pretty costly repair. I've heard repairs could be as much as 1500 because it's labor intensive.

ive heard the same thing, between 1000 and 1500. that is at a dealer too. i think the gear itself is like 350 to 450 itself

you start to get in to tranny repair it gets to be a big deal. If there is a problem there then there are bond to be other problems. "loose" never heard it put that way...if that is the way he put it I would have it check out before putting any money in to it.

or I would just completely pass on that one.
