best switch on sprokets?

Looking for the best change in teeth for front and rear. I have an '05 R6. Looking to be able to get more low and mid power, easier to pull it up in 2nd??

-1F +2 rear is the most common and best all around change.

However when ever replacing sprockets you need to replace the chain. All three should be done at the same time. Further, you won't be able to get the stock chain on a + anything in the rear anyway!

Well that year R6 isnt designed to do a really big sprocket in the rear. It is reccomended that the one i suggested it the best one for that bike.

Really... what restrictions would the bike have on going up 2 in the rear?

Like clearance issues?

Cause if that's the case that sucks. You really can't go down more than -1 in the front for you risk the chain binding.

I knew there was something i was overlooking....Yes you can do a +2 on the rear of that one provided you have enough chain. THX for that pick up...

so -1f +2r sounds the way to go. The new chain I figured on so no biggie there. How much power is this gonna add on the low end? Is the front well gonna want to come up in first alot quicker? i am guessing I am gonna have to change my riding style a bit..

It will be a VERY noticeable change in power. Now understand..your motor isn't making anymore power. You're just changing the gear ratio. You will have to shift gears more often because the final drive ratios will be different. You'll also loose top end speed. About 10-20mph

I'm good w/ only going 145-150. not really safe in jersey for that anyway. Especially after racing home from the hawks nest at 155mph last yr and seeing my buddy in front of me almost get clipped at that speed. Changing gears quicker huh not much to first gear anyway but i will get use to it eventually.

Oh yeah... every bike needs a speedo healer! They are up to 10% off from the factory.
