WTF do I do now?

While swapping out my drive sprocket correctly, righty loosey - lefty tighty, the bolt snapped in two.

Throw all the tools you can reach across the room, kick the wall while swearing in as many languages as you know and then sit in the corner and smoke.

when that's done... grab your screw taps... if you don't have any run to the store and get some... and back them out... while your out... order new bolts from the dealer.


also PB Blaster will help with stuck bolts... spray it on... give it about 30 sec. to soak in... good stuff

PB blaster = penetrating oil?

Do they make extractor bits that work in this direction?

yes it's a penetrating oil... in spray can form... like WD40

and yeah I forgot it's a reverse thread... try just using a metal drill bit like Crazy said

Hold up, we need to change this thread to I am the friggin man!



I took twain's advice, +1 rep, with the whole getting uncontrollably upset and jammed a need nose pliers in there and whacked it with a big hammer and much to my surprise it popped loose! With a lot of elbow grease, monkey mechanics, and cursing.....
