clutch handle adjustment

I have a 2006 F4i and have large hands and was wondering if it is okay to adjust the clutch lever on the clip on to release a little further out. As of now the lever is set per hondas specs but when I pull the lever in it is resting on my other fingers, I only use two to pull the lever. Usually this isn't a problem but sometimes it starts to hurt my other fingers when shifting alot, for example through some twisties. I had it adjusted out about have of what honda calls for and it seemed fine, it felt like it was fully releasing and fully engaging when let out I am just worried about damage. Thanks for the help

You won't damage your clutch by adjusting the freeplay. They give riders freeplay for exactly what you're speaking of. Everyone mashes their hands on that damn clutch handle. You can purchase aftermarket clutch handles for cheap for 3-2 fingers, or just get some heavy duty pliers and bend your clutch handle into a C shape so the end of the lever doesnt smash your fingers. A lot of racers in superstock do that.
