Transmission gear install ?'s

My buddy and I are currently rebuilding his CBR F3. Finally. We are putting the transmission back in right now, and my question is, are the transmision gears allowed to have a little side to side slop or are they supposed to be very tight?

now my fiance wants me to put a couple of these little things in the post:

I would say that there mightbe 4mm play side to side. It seems overall alot tighter now that we installed the shift drum and the shift forks, however I cannot get any accurate view of the gears that sit under the shift drum. I will double check tomorrow the exact amount of play.

if you have 4mm, which is near half a CM, i would seriously advice not putting it together. check to make sure you have all the washers on the ends of the shafts. that is way too much slop.

now, don't count the sliders, those are suppose to move back and forth, but the shafts, they don't move that much.
