smoking bike after cleaning carbs??

So I sprayed most a can of amsoil carb-cleaner into the 4 carbs and then some sea-foam through the gas tank and poured a little more down the carbs. Ran it for a couple mins, then shut it off for a day and a half. Today I got the new fuel line I needed and changed the fuel filter, put the tank on and drove to the gas station to fill it up, it was smoking the whole way, and after I filled up the tank I drove around for another 10 mins and its still smoking.

is there some way I am burning oil or could have damaged something? Sea-foam is safe to fog your engine with for storage so it doesn't eat away at anything. Could I have pulled a hose loose that is causing extreme oil blow-by or something? The muffler seems to have a wet substance on the inside of it.

is the wet stuff gas, water, oil?
white smoke, black smoke, blue smoke, what color?
i thought seafoam was sorta like a carbon remover?

i'd say the smoke is whitish-bluish. the crap in the tailpipe seems kinda slimey but i don't know if it smells like oil or not. I wonder if its just the liquefied carbon still burning off from the sea-foam treatment. But i've never had a vehicle smoke for this long after doing sea-foam. I haven't have a motor that burned oil before so its hard to say exactly what it is. The smoke is not always there and its not white so i know its not a headgasket. it seems to go away a bit when i slow down, and smoke a lot when i'm stopped or on the gas.

the smoke looks like this, could it still just be the sea-foam burning off??

i'm wondering if maybe my valve seals were worn and this ate away the varnish causing it to smoke so much??

hmm. any loss of power, idles bad, hard to shift, sounds like crap when you rev it up or when the motors under a load? or does it run fine besides the smoke?

it seems to have good power still, smooth idle, much smoother than before. snappier off-idle response, no bogging when snapping throttle at an idle in neutral.

have not checked plugs yet.

since it runs good, id say its either the rest of the seafoam burning off, since it sat for a day or so after u did it, or something else i cant think of at the moment lol-pull the plugs out and see if any are wet

i wana say its the seafoam-bike runs better than before, just smokes. if those plugs have 10k miles on em, and you're not strapped for cash, it wouldnt hurt to put some new ones in since u got the plastics off already, but id say just ride awhile, maybe 30-40 min and see if the smoking starts to die down. and check the oil-like you said, maybe somehow something freaky happened and you pulled somethin loose-

They don't look bad.

You want the nice cinemien (sp?)color, which is what it looks like you have... What do the other plugs look like?

assuming they all look like that more or less, they should be fine

but since you are workin on your bike, and its saturday, your hands are way to clean-i suggest an oil change, clean/lube/adjust the chain, and new rear brake pads

seriously tho, put em back in and ride it and see what happens

Yeah if you don't pull all of them you won't know if you have a carb sync problem.

well all is good, i took it on a 45 minute ride with a few WOT pulls in 1st and 2nd and it stopped smoking at about 35mins. There was just so much liquefied deposits that had collected in the exhaust that it took THAT long to burn it off. Also because figure I used almost a whole can on a 600cc motor, when I have used that same amount on a 5900cc jeep motor.

SO if you use a LOT of seafoam, it will probably smoke for quite awhile.

the good news is that my idle is completely fixed. Now the only thing I might want to fix is a slight rich low end but I will need a jet kit and dyno time for that. (When I am rolling along at about 2000rpm's in 1st gear and mash it, it realllly bogs, but that could just be because its so far out of the cams powerband)
