rear shock spring setting

I got an f4i and the rear suspension is set stock. I weigh about 225 and if I am going to have a passenger, you think I should increase the rear spring preload?

The "correct" way is to set it up for each riding condition. Normall I would just recommend setting it up for just the rider. Unless you mostly ride 2-up. The problem about setting it up for 2-up is that when you're riding solo it will be too stiff and allow the back end to slide out from under you in mid-corner when you hit a bump.
