How many Airfilters on a 94 XJ600 Seca2???

Okay. I'm wanting to change the Airfilter on my bike and decided i'd go with a K&N.

I have a 1994 Yamaha XJ600 Seca2

I went to their website and found two airfilters for my bike

1 is a spiffy looking one that I don't care about because you can't see it anyways. But on the description it says "4 Filters". It's also "Instock" in the US but costs $138

The other one is a basic filter with no chrome and it's only $50 and comes with 1. But says "Out of Stock" for the US

I'm just trying to figure out if for some odd reason there are 4 filters on my bike(Which I doubt but who knows) and if not what is the "4filters" thing for on the chrome thing.

Any help is appreciated

Actually I figured it out. The chrome thing is so you can bypass the airbox and have it go straight to the carb.

If you have a airbox I would think one filter. If not... you could have 4 seperate air filters..one for each carb....

Yes. The chrome ones are so you can put a filter over each carb. That is why they came in 4.

Thought I'm not likely going to do it (Now atleast) would their be a benefit to having 4 seperate airfilters?

The sperate air filters are usually part of a stage 3 jetkit.

I cant really see any reason to go the pod filter route(multiple filters) when the stock intake system works just fine. personally I would go with the single filter, because unless you're intending to make the motor a really high performance unit, its not really logical.

I have actually heard that this can cause a decrease in performance...
