Bikes in Shop!

Well... the bike is in the shop for its first problem And can't be fixed til the end of the month with the back up right now. Seems it sat too long with the gas in it, and the carbs are totally gummed up. Anyone have any recommendations!!!

I hate to be out a whole month during riding season!!!!

Remove carbs and put new jets in yourself.

Run some seafoam carb cleaner through them in a tank of gas.

Give me the bike so that it doesn't sit too long... and you have to go through this ever again.

i had that problem with race gas ,but u dont want to empty your tank all the time because that will cause seals and gaskets to dry out & crack but i dont run into much of that out here we ride year round

No it wasnt brand new. I bought it used its a 2004, but we just pushed it over 1k on the odometer... so its like new. My boss has over 12 bikes, so he just barely ever rode this one and we have used carb cleaner and its still not working. I will have to see if a friend can take care of the carbs for me!

replace your plugs, they're really cheap and its super easy to do.
then drain and clean your carbs.

same thing happened to me this spring.

Did not know you had your license. Congrats.

Wow you are already taking passangers?
I will not take any one on the back of my back and I have been riding since 05.

Stabil helps, or in my case since i've been away for the whole summer, I've had someone start the bike and run it for a few minutes every week or so.

Wow, lets see here.... I have had my license for two years, when the magazine debate was going on that was pretty much put out there on several occasions. There was a whole thread about my bike. And I go riding with people, not passengers. Do you have any advice about how to fix my bike?

I kept the bike silver for the time being.... I am going to buy a black GSXR 600 next season and the silver in person is pretty sexy!

Last I read you bough the bike and you had a trip to take. At that point I was under the impression you had not ridden. Congrats on putting some miles on your new bike.

Sorry I have not stayed up to date but, I have been busy with work and a very big Charity fundraising campaign with a national forum.

The advice I would have given you would be to take the bike to a local shop. That is what you have already done, so no advice needs to be given.

I will not respond to part of your post as the next person to bring that up is supposed to be banned.
