need help

I have a 93 900rr my questions is the neutral light stays on while I go through all the gears.....no bad shifting....don't really know why...?

sounds to me like a shorted or a bare wire to the neutral light

I wouldn't worry with it as long as you know where neutral is and don't mind a green light!

Im no mechanic just past experiences. Just cause i dont think its the kickstand doesn't mean its not! Didn't mean to sound like that.

Nuetral light comes on even when not in nuetral. Either replace the switch or remove the bulb.

It's easy to test the switch, you just have to find it. Most neutral switches are on the bottom or sides of the crankcase. Check your manual and wire diagram. Disconnect the wire on the neutral switch from the main loom of wires, and check for continuity between the wire and ground. There should be continuity when the trans is in neutral, and high resistance when in gear. If not, the switch is bad and has to be replaced.
