Jerking at or above 10K rpm

Ok, so I've had the cam chain and cam chain tightener replaced on my bike. The mechanic that was extremely happy and surprised cause he said my R6 is the fastest R6 he's ever been on, was asking what all I've done to it.

However, he's working on the issue stated above. He said it jerks, stutters when the rpms get at or above 10K. He and I both think it's a fuel injection and pressure problem.

Anyone agree? Disagree?

Check the easy and cheap stuff first. Is your air filter clean? Spark plugs good? Fresh gas in the tank?

Yeah, it's got a full tank of 91octane from Texaco, I don't put bs gas into it.

Airfilter is a race filter so I'll just blow it out and reoil it. But it looks pretty clean.

Run some FI cleaner through it and make sure the airbox opening is free from any objects liike a leaf or something.

jerking/sputtering at high rpm like you speak of is likely not a rich condition due to any restriction in your air intake system, but more likely it is a lean condition due to too free flowing an air filter and not enough fuel. try getting a custom map for your fuel system, or power commander that will fix it.

I remember the first time I changed points on an ignition. Was on my friend's late 60's Datsun 510. I followed the manual perfectly, but the engine wouldn't start when I finished. Must be the carb, fuel filter, or fuel pump I thought, until I pulled a plug and there was no spark. The manual at the time was translated directly from Japanese and didn't say to install the new rotor. Was I embarrassed when I saw it still in the box.

The moral is: Check the last thing you changed. The mechanic changed the cam chain and it is the "fastest R6 he's been on". Hmmm, advancing the cam would bring a lot of that high rpm power down lower. I would check to see if he didn't misalign the camshafts to the crank. One tooth off will do it.

Can we say... THREAD HIJACKED!!!

I'll check the map for the PC3 with the full titanium race exhaust and the race filter. It worked alright for a while with the filter, cause I did that like two months prior to the exhaust, but the PC3 was on at that time and mapped for the filter.

Dagnabit, i don't know. I'm just pissed cause I've been outa commission with my bike for a month now and it's been great riding weather in HEL Paso, Texas.
