02 1000 clutch problems

What's up everyone? I'm new to the site so any help is greatly appreciated. My buddy has an 02 GSXR 1000 with only 4000 miles. However, the clutch does not want to engage or disengage. I've never ridden it or worked on a bike clutch/tranny. Besides, I'll stick with my slow 51 for now. Any ideas or what it would take to fix it, labor and cost? My uninformed guess would be clutch springs? He only had it for a few hundred miles, bought it from an older guy. But I think he tried doing one too many clutch assisted wheelies......he's never been good at stunts....anyway, thanks again!

Doubt its the springs but barnett has some heavy duty ones if he is into that. also check the factory pro shift star... works great on factory clutches, but i recommend you have him check his internal adjustment... if its stuck ( should not be )unscrew the lock nut until you have some freedom of movement and adjust it some, until you feel its comfortable, then put the cover back on the clutch and go riding.
