02 suzuki sv650s wont stay on

Hey guys I appreciate the help in advance I just bought an 02 like my title says for my wife over the weekend and I stored it overnight outside my house until i can put it in the garage. I go to take it out the following night I take it to a parking lot and begin to show her how to ride. We shut off the bike for maybe a few minutes it was fairly cold out and i go back to start it and the bike is dead. Ensue rolling down the hill poppin the clutch. No more issues that night. NExt day I go to take it out again and its dead so i charge the battery it fires right up. I'm teaching her in the middle of the day and after a half hour or so i kick it into N rolling to a stop and it just shuts off...roll back down hill. Decide to take it home and im sitting at a light in 1st and it just shuts off again. push home. Is this sounding like a battery needing replaced or something else? please help!

Sounds like the 1st thing to do is charge the battery, then start the bike and check the voltage at the battery with a multimeter.

The voltage should go up to around 13 volts over 3000 rpm. If no voltage increase you have a charging issue.

If you do have a charging issue, I would also consider dumping and straining the oil. The epoxy resin holding in the magnets let go on my race bike. If you have epoxy, which will be brownish-rust colored flakes/chunks, in your engine, it's time for a rebuild.
