New rider - 09 Ninja engine problems. Help!
Okay, I got this 2009 Kawasaki ninja 250R last September. It had been ridden only a few times before put in storage. It went into the shop last month due to a weak battery.
It was supposedly fixed and like clockwork, every 3 days I'd go out and start the engine, ride it for about 5-10 mins then put it back in storage.
Here's the problem: Yesterday I took it out for a spin, and it started sputtering right when I was finishing up. I put more fuel in the tank because it was low. Today I go out:
Engine oil pressure light is on
Gauge next to the gas meter is on
Neutral light won't come on
Killswitch is not engaged
Lights will pop on, but the engine won't even turn over.
I tried calling the dealership (believe me I've had nothing but trouble from the bike since I got it), but the service dept is closed on weekends. I'm moving to Norfolk on Friday and I fear it won't be ready by the time I have to move.
Any ideas/help? P.S. I know nothing about motorcycle engines beyond what was in the user manual. My dad taught me to ride on a Honda Trail 90, but never got around to teaching me about the engine and repair.
