06 Yami help?!!!

Hi you guys i just moved to savannah ga and i need some help on my bike. I have a 06 r6r which i believe have bent valves. My buddy changed the cct to a manual and i think he didnt turn the engine so it would be tight and messed up the timing and bent a valve. So what are my best options as of right now?? to buy a new motor or do the valves?? Im not mechanically incline so i might need a place that can do it for me really cheap. My bike symptoms are exhaust backfires and a loud thumping sound coming from the engine so im pretty sure it the valves. I do ride it sometimes but and scared like H*E*L*L* when i take it up in speed cuzz off the jerking experience. ANy help would be much appreciated if anyone help me out.
