Which Jet Kit??

Anyone have any recommendations on which jet kit to install in a 96 CBR600F3? I have a K&N filter installed, stock engine, and full Yosh system. I have found only the stage 1 kits listed, but know someone who claims to have installed a stage 3 in their F3.

Any suggestions?

I may do more harm than good because i'm old school and kinda new to sportbikes.
But on older bikes you would star off by adding 20% to your jet size when installing k&n's. for example ~if your main jet is 100 you would move up to a 120..

That may be to much!
To go big fuel you will need to have the cams tuned and or replaced.

Jetting changes depend on your altitude and plug color. It used to be that a bike would run leaner with an exhaust system and K&N, but it ain't necessary true anymore. I also read somewhere that some CBR's run worse with K&N's, but I don't remember which ones. But, you really only have two choices with jet kits, Dynojet or Factory. I would give them a call.

I went with a Stage 3 Factory on my R6. It has a few motor tweaks, full system and BMC Air Filter.

Yeah, but on a basic street bike you want a stage 2...

Call dynojet... or check their site... don't have the link with me (cause I'm at work)... then when you get it. You can call them and tell them what you have and they will suggest which jet to replace your OEM one with...

i always liked Factory kits...dynojet kits are good but factory seemed to be pretty much spot on....

i always remembered it to be

stage 1....stock air filter, full exhaust

stage 2....replacement air filter, full exhaust

stage3...individual air filters, full exhaust

First, I am about 20' above sea level. So, I don't have quite the issues you have out on the Front Range.

I know I am running lean. I suspected it and then had the bike dyno'd and confirmed it. I am especially lean up top. I also have the world's worst flat spot from about 4-6,000rpm. It is horrible!! I need to sort my carbs, that's for sure.

Too much lean is never a good thing! Could be from altitude, or the addition of air filter or pipe...

or you call Factory and tell them what you have. Then they will ship you out the right jets for the job....

IMHO, Factory is the only way to go...I hardly ever have a problem with their jet kits, Dynojet can be hit or miss.

Ordered the Factory Pro kit yesterday (the basic one, not the titanium or the $180 race jet kit). Promised to be here by Friday, so you guys know what I'll be doing this weekend.

I'll let you know how it goes...

OK, put in the Factory kit. No worries. The recommendations w/ the kit appeared to be pretty accurate. No drilling. The best part - the test ride. Bike rides sooo much better!!!

I may need to make a needle height adjustment, but not sure. I need to take it for a longer ride and see what happens...
