When is it a good time to think about rebuilding(mileage wise)?

I was at a shop that was doing free dyno's and this Busa dynoed at like 150 or something like that. I overheard him say it's time for a rebuild. I asked him how many miles he's gone and he said like mid 60's i believe. When is it a good time to think about a rebuild? I already put 10k on my bike in seven months and I want to get an idea of what I should save up for (parts). I don't plan on slowing down any time soon and the miles are going to sky rocket. TIA

Well it all depends... I know many people that have had tons of miles on their sportbikes...

Heck Twisty had well over 20K on his TLS before it got um.... kinda gone...

A simple compression test will suffice. Gauge and extension to fit down the spark plug tunnel are less than $50. If a cylinder is low, you can have a leak-down test performed. Usually a valve will go before the rings, and you can bring the head to a shop, or send it out for service.

A stock busa is around 160hp. But how does the dyno operator know that a spark plug isn't fouled, fuel filter clogged, the tire slipping, or a dozen other things wrong? If he had it checked in Denver, he'd be lucky to hit 150 at this altitude.
