First off Second, I moved your thread to the tech section.

Have you checked the owners manual?

We have lots of GSXR owners here that will be able to help you!

Thanks GAS MAN...I bet...I feel like such a dummy that I so far, have not been able to find an answer on my own, ..but then again...being a Charger fan, I'm too obsessed with watching Eli Manning and the GIANTS go down in FLAMES...hooodoggies !! Skip

Are you sure its not a FI light.
What year is it?
Does it have an aftermarket exhaust?

Check the trunk.
He may have left the manual under the rear seat/rear cover with the tool kit.
Use the key under the seat to open it.

I got a possible answer for you!

The SEL is not a warning light its used to adjust the trip meter or to set the time. I don't think its different on the 600 but on the 1000 its a button so it doesn't light up. It may read SEL on the display but it doesn't appear as a warning light. I hope that helps.
