Ninja 600R cooling questions

Im looking for info about what temp. my 600R before my cooling fan kicks in.
I have not had any cooling problems under power and sit at 160 deg. roughly when I'm cruzin .
But last weekend when i was sitting in traffic I REACHED THE 180 mark and still no fan.
Can anyone tell me if this is normal for the 600 ninja.
Thanks for any imput. .

I dont know about the ninja, but my 600RR wouldnt turn the fans on until 220. But Honda's tend to run a lil hotter than usual.

My ninja looks alot like your bike.
I have a 2000 but it has the 2002 yellow body kit.
I will be posting pics soon. (when I figure out how)
I figured with the high compression these motors have 200 degrees was not out of the question and my bike really doesn't even run right until i'm in the 160 to 170 range.
When I get my pics posted you will have to check them out.
Thanks for the info.

First off

Second... posting pics.. check the help section there are a couple good threads to help you.

Finally, the temp... on my 9R the thermostat opens at like 195, the fan comes on at 216 or so and your over heat light will come on at like 228!

My 9R wasn't stock but it was running in a long traffic jam at a million degrees outside and whatever... I shut off the bike and we all know that the temp will rise when you shut it off... that's when I seen the overheat light come on....

Cool deal.
A friend of mine told me this was a good site for info .
But whats really messed up is I found out about the t-shirt thing today and this could drive me nuts.....Rubber room and all.
Good luck with the serching and Thanks for the temp. help.
If i overheated and seized the motor I don't think the wife would understand the money that I WOULD spend come hell or high water to get that bike back under me
I've owened alot of bikes but never a sport bike.....All I can say is WOW! WHAT A RUSH
I'll be talkin atcha later.

Cooling

I have a 2004 ZX-6R and its fan doesnt kick in until around 210 sometimes. It depends on how hard you are running it. Like if you are in stop and go traffic then it will come on and stay on around 180. But if your running on the interstate or something and you only stop every 20 miles or something it wont come on till like 215. Hope that helps. Just don't let it start to flash around 225-230. Then make sure you get it in if you don't know how to check the coolant and fan yourself, just to make sure. Hope this helped....

Yeah you guys were right.
I was just a little nerve racked but I dont know what I would do if something bad happened to her (my bike).
I must admit I have had cruzers all my life but until I got my bullet bike I did not know true love. .
Thanks again.

Still in the pond.
