2003/2004 GSXR 1000 owners...

Hi All,

Hope this is in the right section.

Would anyone with this model of bike (only the 03-04) please be kind enough to post some photos of the inside of your rear seat/trunk area? I need to see how the rear fairing mounts up, as well as how the rear seat/solo cowl locks in (at the back).

It's for a custom mod I am going to do.

Feel free to email the pics to: [email protected] Send as many different pics of the area as you can please.

Thanks a bunch!

Cheers,
Simon

I don't have any pics from my old bike. I can tell you that you have to cut the mud flap off and do some major trimming of the inner finder to mount an undertail.

G'day Chris!

Great to hear from you.......I'm back in Australia now (have been since last December). Things are going well here. I have a good job, my wife is pregnant with our second child and our daughter is about to turn 2! How are you liking the Chopper? It looks bad ass!

I have a Hot Bodies Undertail so I know how that fits up........The pics that I need are for the 03-04 Gixxer 1000 tail section that I am putting on my 95 900RR (the yellow one whose 98-99 tail section was just too porky!!). I am also putting on a single sided swingarm. Re the pics, I just want to see in detail where the bolts are to hold the tail section on, as well as what the bracket looks like that the rear part of the seat locks into.

Will look forward to receiving the pics when someone can take them. Thanks.

Cheers,

It's hit us all hard. Steve was much loved.

To make matters worse, we also lost another Aussie sporting icon last week (in the same week as Steve). Peter Brock (61) was killed instantly when his car slammed into a tree during the 'Targa West' road rally in West Australia.

Brock was ranked in the top 50 best drivers of all time in the world, and was one of the best touring car drivers in the world. He was also a hell of a nice guy, always taking the time to include his fans. He was a true ambassador to the sport...safe driving, and Australia in general.

Next month, we have the Bathurst 1000 race at Mt. Panorama, of which 'Brocky' won it 9 times. A lot of the drivers said that it would feel most weird without Brocky there. I agree.

It goes to show that even professionals are not invincible.

Stay safe out there.

Pip, thanks a bunch!!

The part at the rear where there are four rubber stoppers. It clearly shows that the rearmost ones bolt to the subframe, but the ones closest to the rider look like they have a rubber stopper on top and a slightly larger one underneath.

Does this bolt to anything on the subframe, or are they just bolted through each other so that they work as a cushion for the solo seat cover?

Thanks again!

The ones with rubber bolt to the subframe and the others bolt to the taillight
