200 rear tire for gsxr1000?

i just purchased a 6.25 rear rim with a 200/50-17 dunlop qualifers, dealer tells me it wont fit, wheel man. says it will, i have a gsxr 6 for twisties, this bike is my cruising streetbike so im not so much concerned about handling. has anyone put a 200 on there rear?

Dealer might be going off of factory specs... They might just not want to do it... You can always measure it...

had one on my gsxr 1k... fit on there no problem.

he also owns a 600, so he wants to put a 200 series tyre on the 1000 he rides on the street... AND since its originally a 190, yes it would fit... easily.

Theres no reason why it wont fit the RIM, however i ran a fatter on my 450f once that was 10mm to wide and it rubbed against the swing arm.
