TRE on K7 gixxer

I am sure all gixxer riders heard about TRE (timing retard eliminator). I want to give my personal opinion about it. It really does improve perfomance of the bike. I've had several people tell me that they noticed signifiant improvement in throttle responce and overall perfomance on my bike since I installed it.

I would also suggest browsing Ebay for it (I got mine for under $30), the only downside - gear indicator does not work.

Gear indicator...whats that? And where is it? You look down when your riding? J/K

I might have to look into one. Thanks.

I have not found one that will keep gear indicator working. The whole purpose of TRE is to let the computer think that bike is always in 5th gear due to the fact that best fuel delivery and throttle responce happens in 5th gear.

I made my own automatic TRE. They worked ok on the SV, wasn't that big of a difference.

i took my TRE off. 05 gixxer 7.
i was expecting a noticable difference. nada...
changing tire pressure made more of a difference.
i usually run at low rpm's so i would have noticed.

i have the one that is supposedly automatic (no need to change idle).

i don't recommend TRE for 750's. my word is gold.
those that think it works has the placebo effect.
