is 2500.00 a decent price for this bike?

my wife is nagging the f_uck out of me about this bike for her. it's a 1997 gsxr 600 the guy is willing to come down to 2500.00. she wants to go check it out this weekend. he says it has 37000 miles on it. i've told her she could get a ex500 like 04 or 05 for 3000.00 with less miles. but she's determined. any advice please? http://bike-exchange.com/check_updat...60704&adtype=n

I wouldnt go for it personally. Ive seen 03-04 katana's with less miles go for that. Hell there are a ton of SS bikes around year 2000 you can get for that

GOOD LORD WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS FACE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I'd go for a newer, smaller bike as a first bike. Newer bikes are lighter, handle better and are more reliable. 37,000 is a lot miles for a bike that old also. Could be completely ragged out.

Your idea about the EX500 is a good one. SV650s are always nice...

thank you. i was telling her the same thing last night about the 37000 miles. we're gonna grab a cycle trader this morning. and hopefully find something better. and to me the other clue was he had no complaint about dropping down to 2500.00. wonder why?
