my new streetfighter project

behold, the 89 GS500 I scored, plus an organ donor frame with motor, swingarm and rear wheel.

my purchase for both was only $650, not half bad considering the good one is spraypainted, and has a GSXR600 front end off an 02 on it.

No, they're the same size, the chain is next on my list of things to change. gotta finish making it run first or its kinda a pointless effort.

front end just looks bigger cause its a gixxer set of forks, and the back tire is a 130/90/17. I want the 70/17 on there.

which one? dont forget I've got TWO motors for this bike, the one in the bike pictured, and another whole motor, minus electrical parts.

the out of frame motor, is for sale, running-ish motor needs some fine tuning on the carbs. I synched em earlier, no wonder it stalled, the carbs were WAY out of synch.

Dude that is SWEET!!! I wish I could score something like that just to beat around on. And that could easily be a bad arse street fighter.

2002 ZX6R, Shark Skinz, custom paint, Ignition advance plate, Shift kit, Yoshimura TRS Full race with Duplex header, K&N, 14/40 gear and sprocket, Ivans jet kit and Dyno tune for 103hp at the wheel. 110hp with 110 octane!

today I spent the day working on the fuel issue, it seems to be that I've got water in the gas somehow, and NEED to install an inline fuel filter real bad.

the more I look at that front end on my bike, the more I want to say it aint suzuki, but ninja 636. I think the fender, brake caliper setup, and a few little things like the way the spokes are designed on the wheel are why I think that.

yup. those were one of a few things that stood out to me, and made me think kawi. so, in light of this, being a suzuki with Kawi parts, I shall name it frankenstein. oh yeah, the green helps too.

here's what I did yesterday. the stock signals actually suit my taste perfectly. soon as a few things I'm expecting arrive, I will make the headlight housing look WAY cooler. this signal install only cost me $16 for two 36" pieces of aluminum at home depot, bolted to the frame.

when I get my new jets in, and finish my headlight fairing, I"ll mess with the fuel stuff. at this point, I think I've partially got it, it seems to have been the previous owner REALLY ghetto rigged the fuel lines, using some kind of cheapo crap, and it started crumbling inside. when I get the time, I"m gonna coat the tank with POR 15 inside to be sure. it IS nearly 20 years old though, so I'm expecting a few hiccups in the project here and there.

Just to update everyone on the bike's progress, last night I put the original GS500E headlight on it because its bigger, brighter, and has high/low beams. To add to this, I have it registered, and running fairly well, meaning I can ride it now.
