FI light

Got an 07 gixxer 600. Been parked for a while. Took it out couple a weeks ago for a 20-30 min ride. After parking it for about 10 min, I started it up and noticed FI light. Turned it off for couple of seconds and light went off next time I started it. It did it again after that but now it stopped. What the hell was that? Anyone got an idea?

usually the FI light is to indicate that the fuelmpump is pressurizing the system. when you turn your ignition on it should light until pressure is reached and then go off. i think.

The FI indicator lights when the ECM has detected a problem. (error code)
On the GSXR the ECM resets it self when you turn off the ignition. It does not store the code.
You will have to put the bike in 'Dealer Mode' to see what the actual code is while the bike is running and the FI indicator is lit. To enter the 'Dealer Mode', a tool (toggle switch) is plugged into a service connection on the bikes wiring harness under the rear tail-section.
Take your bike to the dealer and have them check it for you. If the bike is still under warranty it should be covered.
It could be a simple problem such as the exhaust valve in the mid pipe sticking. This is a common problem with the newer GSXR. It is an easy repair.

Good Luck.

More throttle,less brake!!!
