2008 Busa review

This is a great motorcycle.

I have been liscensed and riding continuosly for over 20 years.
I have owned several different bikes over this 20+ years.
2 of the most recent and the bikes I am comparing to are the 1200cc and the 1250cc Bandit. Both of these bikes are extremely capable.

1st impression of the 2008 Busa:

Very shocked at how docile and ridable this bike is, very smooth ride plenty of punch at any RPM.

I was actually wondering where it got its beastly reputation, then I found out.

Keep in mind seating position is very different.

If a person rides this bike with good sense, it rides as smooth as any bike on the street (even the Venerable Goldwing). Docile and agile and not overburdening in any way. Roll ons in 6th gear are extremely respectable.
Tranny - Typical Suzuki (Great).
Engine - A little noisy at idle, but hits adecent lick when warmed up.
A,B,C switch - Who wants to tone this bike down.

Now if a persons opens this bike up: This bike starts talking to you above 5,000 RPM. Mean, evil, nasty and wicked. By far this is one of the quickest and by far the fastest bike I have been on. At about 4,500-5,000 RPM in 1st and 2d gears if you want the beast within all you have to do is whistle at the throttle, if hammered hard under the above condtions it will either brake traction or bring up the front end and it does not strain at all to do either one these two things. On the back road straights - in 3d gear the bike will easily reach 130+ when hammered in this RPM range and has broke traction and then lifted the front end when the bike got traction back.

Still low miles so no good review on dependability and reliability as of yet, but so far no problems in these areas.

Everyone enjoy your ride and I will keep everyone posted as best I can on mine, wish me luck.

Yeah, I had a 2001 Busa for a few years. Yesterday I bought a brand new 2008.

I've only ridden it 25 miles (rained today), but so far it seems to be a better bike all around.
