Installing scorpio on 2006 gsxr 750

Hi, I'm installing the scorpio sr-i500se and need help installing the anti-hijack feature.

According to the instructions I should install it into my ignition wire which should be orange/white. But according to my fuse box the ignition wire is orange/brown. I also found an orange/white wire but I can't seem to find where it goes to.

Should I just follow my fuse box and ignore the instructions or am I missing something? Also how do the butt connectors work? Do I just stick the cut wires in? Sorry for all the questions. Appreciate any help!

OK... I just had a similar problem on the same my ignition kill on my big dog.

I hooked up the ignition originally but it had adverse effects on the bike. So I had to think outside of the box.

All you are trying to do is stop the bike from being started. By design the alarm will go off when the key is turned on but it can still be started without this option installed.

So you can either wire into the igntion, possibly the "off/run" switch, starter, or the FI.

The only thing I recomend is that you use some type of connectors. Make it able to un-hook this bypassing system. I used male/female spade connectors on mine. That way on the road if you have any technical difficulties you can bypass this aspect of the alarm and still start the bike.

Bring on more questions...

Damn that was some pretty good info Gas Man!

I actually emailed anitronix about the problem and they pretty much said "think outside of the box" and sent me the wire diagram of my bike with some ideas to hook up the anti hijack to one of the fuel pump wires. So I'll just consider my options. Thanks

Also does anyone know how to properly use the butt connectors that come with the kit?

No problem...

You must be talking about the splice connectors?

The red wierd looking things?

Ok...

Butt Connector

Splice connector

Those pics should show how they work. But I don't recommend them. They can cause shorts.

I suggest a clean cut and then the spade connectors so as I said you can put it back to normal.

I just put the same alarm on my R1 today. I think it took about 10 minutes to fully install and mount it. Really sweet alarm! Especially since it was free!

Well I don't know about free but you should be able to get it for under $220 all day!!! If you can't find it, let me know... I can post a few places! But I recommend Speedwerks, that's where I got mine.

Here's the thread on the Scorpio alarm... I think towards the end of the thread or at least half way thru I talk about my install.
