Re-Born Rider

Hello, To my new family

my name is Jarett Bragg 23 yrs old from North Jersey. I say my new family because I look at motorcycles as a part of your heart, And anyone else that feels the same way shares that special relationship with you becomes part of your "Special" family.
When I was 16 I spent a summer with my uncle who was addicted to superbike racing he feed my thirst for what was to become a passion and love of mine. he taught me everything i can learn other than actual riding a motorcycle. At the age of 17 right before graduating high school I used all the cash i saved up for a car and bought my first bike 1998 yamaha R1. My love.
The beginning of my ignorace at the time i had no motorcycle license or riding exp., and i bought the bike through a private seller who at the time was going thru a divorce and sold me the bike with no problem ( he had to ride the bike to my house).
I taught my self how to ride in my apt complex parking lot and i would ride after 1am since no cars was on the road to hone in my skills. and since i had no license i could not ride during the day. frustrated with the idea of not being able to ride during the day i quickly put a bid in to my friends for the first one to come up with motoplates I pay $50.
Riding with fake plates for 2 months took the fun out riding due to the constant of police. all this came to a stop the day after a rain shower my tires were wet and I was making a 90 degree right turn out my complex when my throttled to hard and slid my bike 15 yards.
I injured my shoulder and hip ruined my gear and worst of all left with no bike i had to walk my badly scratched and road bitten bike back to my complex parking lot. Having no insurance i could do nothing about it and lost all my savings.
I thank god it happened the way it did and not in death for my own stupidity. I came here to start fresh and learn the Safe way from my new family.

Thank you
Jarett B.
