Go back a look at the video, it was just taped to the gas tank.

I wonder if the soft mount is why the camera maintained much of it's composure...

What a jackass.
I love the ghostrider videos but they inspired a whole generation of sportbikers to get crazy stunts on film which is not good for anything except the gene pool.

The yamaha that was coming the opposite direction had no tread on the back tire when they showed it, probably wasn't the best rider either. He didn't have much time but it looked like he made no attempt at a swerve maneuver or anything.

I'm really starting to think there's going to be bans or strict guidelines for sportbikes in the near future here in the states. A tiered licensing system like they have in Italy and other countries makes sense but they'll probably just make the manufacturers put limits on the power. Sad.

I hope they are both OK. That said, its idiots like this guy riding well past his limits to try to keep up with another squid (his pass was at a stupid time with no sight distance also) that hurt/killed an innocent rider who was obeying the law and riding safe.
I love watching Ghostrider, but even he is a menace. At least he has skills though. This guy? The duct tape says it all...

Anyway, I agree that both cars and motorcycles should require rider skill tests before you can buy/operate one. A 1 to 4 HP/Weight ratio should require a certain level of competence. The sad part is the Government won't do that. They will just implement a knee-jerk reaction that hurts us all (like "catastrophic" mandatory insurance for motorcycle riders!)

Idiots like this guy will just help make it a reality...
