I thought it was pretty cool... definatly a let down from the fast and the furious version though...

Pretty sweet looking and yet another example of how Honda kicks ass. Now if I could just get my hands on their Asimo and dress it in a gorilla suit I'd be rocking.

When working at a machine shop we worked for a company that developed infared cameras for many reasons. One was for firefighters to look into a house from the outside to see if people are in there or any hot spots. But one camera they made could look at a motor while it fired in super slow motion. We saw the video from a test they did with it and the pistons looked like goo. They bent, warped, etc. Very interesting. Turns out your forged pistons don't do that.

What "Fast and Furious" scenes are you talking about.

Wow that is pretty neat! I wonder how they got some kind of lens in there to take the video, and what kind of lighting issues they had (since during intake it is completely dark and during combustion it's bright as hell)... Maybe they used a fiber optic camera... probably...

There were short computer-generated sequences in that movie where they brought you through the whole cycle of a car engine as if you were flying in a little ship or something.

I.e. you went in through the air filter, through the intake, into the cylinder, there was explosions and NOS was shot in, then you went out through the turbo and eventually out the exhaust. It was kinda cool.

Is Torque the one where they brake the sound barrier with no helmets on while going through city streets? Or was that Biker boyz?

I think I remember that scene. Which I watched the first one but didn't really pay attention when they hit nitrous 10 different times in the 1.5minute drag race they held.

By the way I remember the guys computer going "Manifold Malfuction". How the hell does a manifold malfunction in the middle of a race???

Either way I think all those movies set new standards for Squids everywhere. Wether on 2wheels or 4.

Fast and Furious is chock FULL of technical errors regarding cars and driving in general.

The movie must be viewed for what it is.... entertainment. If you watch it with any other attitude, you will spend the whole time

I know the first time I saw that movie I was pretty excited. And all these green washers started shooting on the floor pan as he hits the second stage, and the floor pan flips off the car.. I was like WTF? what does the floor pan got to do with the engine.? Oh well I had fun, and still have fun quoting cheesy lines from that movie. "I live my life one 1/4 mile at a time, for those ten seconds or less nothing else matters."
