that dude must be pretty short he can barely tip toe it...
the first time ANYBODY sits on a bike, I think there should be someone right next to them and ALL they should be doing is learning friction zone (rocking the bike back and forth). on most bikes, and especially the 650, I really doubt you even need any throttle to get it moving if you are smooth with the clutch.

that's to be expected. i've seen many noobs go straight into things. my son went straight into a pond during his first few minutes of riding. he panicked and tried swimming back to land. the water was only two to three feet deep.
