Hotbodies exhaust

Let me start by saying

I am just wondering if anybody else out there is running a hotbodies exhaust on their bikes. I just bought a 06' Kawasaki ZX-6R, and I had the dealer throw on a hotbodies exhaust and undertail. Now don't get me wrong the tail is sweet, and the exhaust sounds bad ass, but I'm running into a heat issue. The dealer did wrap the pipe in heat tape, but the 2 hour ride from the dealer to home managed to melt some of my plastic exhaust brackets. So now not only do I have a hot back seat, but also the stentch of melted plastic. I took the undertail off and put in a layer of 1/2" high-heat flame resistant insulation between the exhaust and the underside of my fuse box. well the heat is still there but it no longer melts anything. I'm just wondering if anybody else has ran into a problem with these exhaust, and maybe some tricks to getting around the heat issue.

IMO, the only thing that will lower but not get rid of the heat, is header wrap. They use this on cars and you can get it in min of 1"wide x 25ft or you can op for 2" wide x 25ft. This will help you in a bigger way than the shield. the heat will maintain itself within the pipe and not spread.

Hotbodies exhaust

Hey guys thanks for the input. Wished I would have know about hotbodies **** sooner, and gotten other peoples opinions on their products. Like I said the undertail does look good, and the pipe sounds awesome, but it isn't worth melting the tail end of my bike off. Gixxer thanks for the heat tape idea, I'll give that a shot and hopefully that will help decrease the heat problem.
