My ordeal involving my smoked wind screen & Vortex Sliders

Some of you may know that I was trying to sell my smoked DB wind screen because I did a lot of filming from my tank cam so I just put the stock clear one back on. Well, it took a while before somebody showed interest. I was IMing w/ SAEFIREBIRD (the guy with the GB on Pitbull's) and he said he knows a guy who's interested. So I get his AIM SN and we start talking about it. He asks me if I would be interested in a trade. I said sure. It turns out he had some frame sliders for my bike. I said cool, what kind. He says Shogun...mounted but like new. Oh yeah, they were no cuts. Not a big fan. But no-cuts are better than no sliders. I said cool, let's do it. I told him that when I would get the sliders in the mail, I'll ship the screen out. He didn't want that. Long story short I worked something out with SAE that would get the guy to mail the sliders first and I would just see if the tracking number was valid and it was. So I shipped it today. He shipped his Wednesday.

You still with me? Cool.

So I get the sliders in the mail today. The first thing I noticed is that they weren't Shogun's. They were Graves! That's a huge bonus for me, because the adapter on the left side hugs the frame, eliminating the possibility of the adapter moving in a wreck and further damaging stuff. The bad part is that it only came with one bolt. Luckily my old, old Shogun bolt fit on one side. But the other side, the bolt is too short. So I gotta get one at Home Depot tomorrow. Then I notice that the left side puck has some dings in it, possibly from a driveway drop or something. I just ordered the new one from Graves like 10 minutes ago. So aside from the missing bolt and the hassle, I think I made out. The sliders sell for 90+ and I bought my screen for 65. But the 25 bucks I spent on the puck kinda evens things out. Oh well, I'm happy. Let me get a pic of the left side...

The damaged puck...

You can see the notch in the adapter that hugs the frame...

Yeah Graves makes nice things!

But you aren't going to find the right bolt at home depot!

You need a case hardend bolt. Take the bolt from the other side with you. But you need to go to at least a hardware store.

Do you think you could possibly use some light sandpaper to clean up that dinged slider? Save you from having to get a new one...

I put over 400 miles on the 6 today! Good sh*t. So that makes it 4600 miles in 3 months and 5 days. I gotta stop for a while.

I still got decent tread on the Powers too, and I just reached 4K on 'em. It's less than 1/4 inch. Maybe an eighth. Still got life to 'em though. Then i got the brand new rear in my garage that I'll proly throw on before the track or at the track day.

Yeah, I'm pissed about it, but there's not much I can do about it. i was thinking about buying the flat black lowers off the blue model, but I don't think they'd look too good.
