eliminating tail piece on 99 sv650

So about how much does it cost, and how much would it bump up the resale to eliminate the tail piece on a sv650?

Runs well, has not been laid down, good tires. Factory tailpiece has been eliminated. Comes with matching aftermarket sport fairing. Recent carb rebuild and new battery. Clear title. $2800.
This is what the seller states, I don't know what he is talking about, so I googled it as a kit?? and it brought back a kit price of roughly $135

I'm trying to gauge how much I can talk to the guy down and, why he has jacked the price up so high. According to a thread on this site that links "used motorcycle buying guide" has a link to current market value and the Nov. 2007 list says that this bike is valued at $2,320. So I am also going over this guide with a fine tooth comb.

Heres the images that I was going off of. I am also looking at this
HTML Code:
www.sv650.org
theres one more that has like a pdf format that shows the breakdown of the bike components.
HTML Code:
http://www.sv650.org/newbuyer/index.htm
I thought maybe the kit got rid of the handles on the back of the tail.

After that last post I looked at the factory specs and it does have a handle, and looking at the factory versus the ad, all it looks like it does or did was take the handle out and use a different bracket or some such for the plate on back.

This is the factory specs with images. That I was looking at

It's hard to tell exactly what he's done to the tail with the pictures being so small, but here's what I know for sure:

The tail plastics are stock.

The grab bar has been removed. Hopefully he plugged the holes with something nice.

He removed the rear fender. I don't know what he used to do it, but judging by the position of the license plate, it's homemade.

Aftermarket stuff on a bike does not increase resale value. Anyone that wants any of the money back on their aftermarket stuff puts the stock stuff back on their bike and parts out the add-ons.

For him to ask more than NADA used value is pretty ridiculous, IMO.
