hey i just thought i'd share this little trick with everyone out there. pull your clutch lever cable off of the lever itself, and spray teflon spary into the tube. hold the tube up and let some of that spray get down in there. then repeat. do this about 3 or 4 times and reassemble. a buddy of mine who's been riding crotch rockets for about 15 years taught me this, and it really does reduce clutch lever effort by about 80%. the first time i felt his bike with this mod, i thought something was actually broken somewhere. just thought i'd share. ride safe everyone.
Linky? I should probably do that to mine. Seems like the cable might be sticking a little. Not surprising after 6900 miles and several rain storms I guess. :idk:
Just put 120 miles of mostly twisties on today + some slow speed stuff in the high school lot including panic brake practice.
I like the idea of it, especially when I just want to force the dirt down and out with WD40, then lube the cable real well. just the little spray tube, I tried that, somehow managed to spray lube 10 feet in front of my bike, and also all over my front fender. damned if I know how I done it.
i heard about this all new trick, its guarentteed to extand the life of your bike, make it run so much smoother and its only 30 bucks if you do it yourself
i dont know how much it cost me, i use amsoil and kn filter so i dont know how much it all was since i buy a couple of filters at a time and the oil is from my old dealer so i get a nice price
To the OP.... I don't think this is a 'trick'.... it's called 'routine maintenance'....
But yes, K&N filters FTW!!!! Can use a torque wrench putting it on, easily take it off with a socket and ratchet, and it's predrilled for safety wire. Can't beat that.
And you never have to use a chitty oil filter wrench or socket attachment again.
Well its also for good racers... they all run that filter as well... who wants to buy a new filter 10+ times a year... I think Twisty changes his oil/filter like every other race.
A scotts filter for 120 bucks may not be such a bad idea... so is there an element you change inside every once in a while? Or do you just have to clean it out?
