01 gsxr 750 undertail exhaust

Bought a new (to me) 01 gsxr 750 and looking to convert it to undertail exhaust and remove passenger foot pegs lose a little weight and get some mass centralization going on at the same time. Also destroy the hopes and dreams of random hoes who want to on the back of this sexy beast and smash my nuts against the gas tank at a red light. Is this a minor mod that a shop can do or serious and anyone have an idea what kind of price range i would be looking at?

personally, i think converting to an undertail would be a waste of money. you get 0 performance increase, a firey hot ass, and a ton of work... all for appearance? hell, buy some decals, and get some new tires/SS brakes/520/new filters/new plugs and you'll still have some extra cash in hand to get rid of those bar ends you dont like.

If you are dead set on a bike w/ an undertail, go buy a honda or a 675.

The pipe on it is going to give you more peformance than an undertail! But waste money and work hard if you want!!

THe only undertail kit made for these bikes is the Hotbodies. And I have heard bad things on the forums about Hot bodies under tail plastics. Honestly judging by the pics you posted earlier you have a sweet aftermarket exhaust set up already, I would just leave it alone. Your rear pegs just unscrew. If you want to take them off take them off and set them aside that way if you ever want to ride 2 up you can just put them back on. as far as the weight savings I dont think it will be anything noticeble if anything removing the pegs and converting to an under tail they prolly will offset eachother. The undertail exhaust seems to me like it will raise your Center of Gravity NOT allowing the bike to fall into corners as easy.

There is only 2 ways I can see you getting an undertail exhaust for your bike as I researched it alot as I have the same bike. 1. Go with the hotbodies kit. but as previously stated it is not a good system and have heard very bad things about it! 2. Have a good pipe fabrication shop build you a custom system. This is a very expensive task for them to to 1 off, and I would bet that it would actually hurt performance!!! If you are worried about weight savings buy some really nice magnesium wheels for about $2500. it would be a better bang for your buck!! Just wait till you ride the bike before you worry about modifying it! The bike stock will scare you!
Plus it looks like it already has a nice pipe on it! just my opinion though
