They are definetly worth it. Besides the advantages of being able to take it to a facility that can tune the bike to its maximum potential you would be able to learn alot by tinkering around with the different maps.
+ When gas goes to >$4.00 a gallon you can use the commander to lean out the bike and save gas money....

Haha, you cheap bastard. You aren't saving any money on a sport bike regardless of how lean you go. Gas guzzlin beasts.

Seriously though, Power Commanders/Air Filters/Better tires probably the things you should definitely do to a stock sportbike right after removing it from the showroom floor.

Ummmm...I don't know what these other guys are talking about but unless you've installed an aftermarket full exhaust system ....application of a PC would be a waste of $$.

unless you plan on racing your bike a full exhuast system in my opinion isnt need just a good after market can will do. and a good after market filter will help tell a differance if you put a power commander on your bike. good tires are also a plus. I have a yoshi can, k&n filter, one tooth down on the front sproket and michelin pilot power tires on my bike with the power commander and i could tell a diffirence and i belive its worth the money. and i plan on taking it to a bike shop and have the dyno and tune it to it max this summer for even more pep. go with it.

each bike is different with respect to how it reacts to a good map, some, like my rc51 can tell a huge difference with just a pc on a stock bike, there is a place in cali that has pc3usb's for 260 shipped, smcycles.com i think
