True HID better than Xenon filled lights?

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is truly a difference between True HID bulbs or the regular Xenon filled kind. The price difference is like 100 dollars so i would really like to know before hand. I know the Xenon kind advertises that the K color (like 8000K or 10000K) are the same but i thought the silvania cool blue bulb would be like that and it ended up being no different than the stock headlight. I've learned to not trust advertising so i need the input.

IMO, bulbs will never compare to HIDs.

That is my experience with automobiles; so I fathom the same to be true with bikes. I'm running 8000K HIDs on my truck and will probably go with 6000K kit on my bike

If your going with tryin to get a brighter bulb then you for sure should spend the extra and get the HID's. I just put a set of 8000k in my bike. Basically the higher the color the more blue and the lower the more white. A 4300K bulb is white but much brighter than say a 8000K bulb with is bluer (but still much brighter than xennon bulbs). Trust me and go with the HID's!!

Argh

Argh..

For the record, Xenon filled bulbs are powered by a voltage transformator which generates +/- 23.000 volts. This transformation is called High Intensity Discharge (HID) because of the obviously high voltage.

HID is not a different kind of lightning then Xenon because HID is used to power the xenon filled bulb as a starter does to a TL tube (linear fluorescent).
