My new exhaust hanger

Well, I wanted to get rid of the passenger pegs, but the right side peg is also the exhaust hanger. I had searched on eBay several different times but could only find a hanger for the 02 and below R6 (they have them now, but they're over $40). So I decided to make my own. I bought a stock passenger peg/exhaust bracket off eBay and my brother cut off the peg mounting section (I wanted to keep mine in case I ever change my mind about taking passengers). I then cut the bottom off so there would just be one smooth line at the bottom. Next came a little sandpaper and bondo to fill in the cut marks. Then some primer and paint. No more passenger pegs!!

Here's a pic.

Funny, I recently did the same thing! I need to polish it up a bit but I'm super happy with the results.

It's not about weight, it's about a more streamline look. When you pull off the left rear peg/bracket, it would look kinda funny if you left the right rear peg on there.

Hey Cap, are you gonna paint the rear sets to match the hanger too or what? It looks pretty smooth in the pic.

I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it. Not sure if I will or not because I'm thinking of getting aftermarket rearsets.
