'05 ZX6R Aftermarket exhaust -vs- Exhaust valve.

I just installed my new Micron Dual outlet underseat slip on, and with it you do not use the exhaust valve that comes stock on the bike. I plan on getting a Dyno-jet Commander to adjust the fuel curve, but I did notice that as soon as I turned it on my FI light was lit.I know that this is just from the computer no longer being able to control the valve, but is there any way to turn this off, or is it anything I should worry about. Anyone with wisdom on this please chime in.

Thanks,

Jeff

Oh, and on another note, Micron says to have the Dyno-Jet power commander with a MUK61/U Micron Map installed to correct the A/F curve. Where, or who can do this, and what is needed to do it other that the DJPC? I know how to download and install new tunes on my predator from my tuner, and install them on my cobra, is this similar? Thanks,

Jeff

Well I don't have this problem... just sittin back and seein what people tell ya. I will offer this... I can understand why the FI system is not likin you. You changed it's atmosphere, and it runs on certain specs.

I'm sure that if Micron gives you the file code for the new map that it will fix the problem for the A/F. Now weather or not it gets rid of the FI light...not sure. I'm sure that SW could tell ya.

Also, yes, it can be pretty easy to install a new MAP especially with the new USB PCIII's.

No pics yet..I will try to get something up tonight or tomorrow if I have time. Besides the exhaust I also installed a Targa Fender eliminator with similar signal lights to stock, but they mount flush, and a Black chrome windscreen. Everything is starting to look pretty tight.

You may be stuck with the FI light because of chucking the valve. I can't remember on that bike off the top of my head. As for the PCIII - it's easy. You just hook it up to your PC with the included USB cable and send it the map with the included software. I didn't look, but you should be able to download the map from www.powercommander.com - just click on the PCIII for your bike and it'll bring up the page with the map files to download.

on your bike you have a Exhaust valve switch and when you remove then the valve the switch is not grounded. You have to find the wire(Brown) that runs to your computer. I had to this with mine. And its not my Gixxer although on the Gixxer it was the brown with black stripe wire. I will see if I can get the diagram for you...Why do I know So much About the RR....wait and you will see....

Ok got your info: There is 6 sided connector under you seat. You need to take that off and send it Micron and they will send a new one. There was slight problem when they came out with the exhaust. Here is their number. 1-888-963-1212

Thanks man. I will give them a shout. So I am guessing that the six sided connector is something that came on the bike. because I don't remember anything 6 sided coming with their pipe. Correct?
