question for YZF owners

specifically the '98 600R...

Only my speedo lights up, tach and oil temp do not. Is this intentional or do I need a new bulb.

Also,

Rode in the rain for the first time this morning, wasn't as scary as I thought, just stayed as vertical as possible. Hardest part for me was the visibility, I was wondering: can you RainX a face shield? Any other tips?

Thanks.

Must likely just blown bulbs. No biggie to fix. Probably have to order the bulbs from the dealer tho.

Not to jack this thread, but.....
Is there any significant difference between the mid '90s YZF an FZR?? The designs look almost the same, so I wasn't sure if it was a performance thing. If so, which is supposted to be the sportier bike?

Oh, and umm...it's probably your bulbs

Before you pull apart the instrument cluster t ocheck out a bulb issue check the fuses... usually there is only one instrument lighting fuse but some bikes have 2 seperate fuses... it is easier to check a fuse then a bulb so start there..

just my

I was thinking of how the newer YZFs are like R6s, so that an older YZF would be considered a better bike perfomance wise than an FZR. Anyone know how the specs compaire between, say a 96 FZR and YZF?

If you can read the numbers on the bulbs, any autoparts store should be able to help you... but they may have to order them. Only a bike dealer or repair shop is likely to have them in stock.
