BAM! R1up0n1's update and NEW TOY.

Ok so I've been gone awhile from TWF b/c of the new house, puppy, my car, work and my new bike. Yes, I got another R1, but this one is a 2004.

This one has plenty of mods on it already. rickmancc gave me a hell of a deal on this one I couldn't say no to. The engine had a hole in the block, so we ordered a new engine, and I did the engine swap in about a week. So far I've put 399 miles on it and it's running strong with no problems.

Some of the the mods include HID headlights, GYTR carbon fiber exhaust, Puig DB windscreen, BMC race filter, Power commander, DID gold chain, 47 rear tooth sprocket, and a custom paint job.

Here are a few pics from the engine swap until its done, more to come later.

(See the hole in the block)

This was taken minutes after I got the bike all put back together.

I'll have to get some daytime pics, but I was too busy riding in the day light this weekend.

Hmm HID's!

Those are the pics I have for now.
Ok so my review on this thing. I LOVE IT! Compared to my 2003 R1 I had this 2004 is so much smoother, the gear box is not so clunky, and the power range is crazy through all the gears, although the 47 rear tooth sprocket has some to do with that. Overall I'm very pleased with it.

Some punk kid had it before me, and I could tell he did a lot of burn outs because there was tons of rubber caked under the tail section... he probably held the tach in the red too long and shot the rod through the block.

I never really stunted any of my bikes...a wheelie here and there isn't stunting.

I'll have to think about it...not sure what I'm doing for vacation next year yet. If the TN sheriffs are still acting like dicks I might not attend.

It's hard to keep the front end down...it always wants to lift.
