Building a project

Hi everyone i am new to this forum and I have a general question hoping someone could shed some light on this for me I have a 2007 R6 but i am looking for some to make my own so i want to start from "scratch" so to speak so my question is has anyone heard of or seen a bike that is an older chassis with the newer plastics i think that is where i want to start if it is possible.

there was someone on here that put F4i plastics on an old F3 I think... then put an 600RR tail on it too... can't remember who it was though...

so yeah it's been done... can mean A LOT of work and can be hard/impossible to make it look right... but if you've got the will and the skill...
