Welcome :twfrox: May I suggest if you have not already done so... Buy a steering Damper... before you do anything else to that bike... It's a great looking bike but I just seen first hand what not having that damper can do to it...

Sorry just my :2cents: of advise...

cool, thanks for the info....But what are the advantages of having the steering damper, and what did you see first hand by not having one???

first thing i saw was a 400 dallor dent in my wallet. lol other then that they r supose to work great. just put mine on last week. adn i will be out wed and thurs this week to test it out.

but no matter who you ask if they have one they will deff 100% recomend one, reason i got one. plus the 600cc bikes, the new ones are all real twitchy. smooths them out alot.

also recommend a suspension adjustment done by a shop.

First hand... the advantages would be not having A and having B....pics below

Seen my good friend grab some air time after having a crazy head shack....all after hitting a tar snake.... that 400$ is not that much when you think about it... This was Saturday morning

Damn, you had to get a pic of the exact bike he has too! That will make him feel good. Welcome by the way. this forum seems to have a lot of experienced people on it . I try out other forums but always come back to this.

Check with SpeedWerks (they are a sponsor of this site) on a damper, they should be getting them soon. I just bought a GPR damper for my '05 R6 from eBay. However, if you go the eBay route, make sure to contact the seller to be certain they have the '05 mount in stock. Only one of the 3 that I contacted actually had it in stock even though they had it listed on their auction. That seller was 58cycle. They had a blue and a black one and I got the blue one. Anyway, it would be a wise investment.

I was out riding today and got some minor headshake when I hit a bump in a turn and then had a little more headshake when I was getting on the gas hard while exiting another turn later in the day. I've seen the racers catch headshake when exiting a turn hard and always wondered how the could stand it, but then when it happened to me today I just rode right through it and it didn't really bother me. However, I still want the damper because I don't want to take any chances. My damper should be in tomorrow and I'll probably install it tomorrow night.

sounds stupid but thats one of the other reasons i like it, it has one of the nicest mounting brackets adn it matches the rest of the gold on the bike, forks, calipers, chain, R in decals is gold. i use to not like gold at all, now i think with gold accents stuff looks awsome.
