06R6S - Burned !

Hello guys just got an 06 R6S the less racy model and feel burned by the false advertisement of bike . Yamaha claims its an 05 with an 04 fork but didn't the 05 have dual electric fans and 40 mm fuel injection - mine has 1 fan and 38 mm fuel injection - WTF ! Does anyone know if the frame is an 05 with beefed up frame to handle upsidedown forks or is the frame also an 04 . It seems like Yamaha went through a lot of trouble downgrading this bike when they could have just carried over the 05 model . Now if they offer to buy it back for false advertisement I will get something better .

I have looked into this. The R6S is a '04 R6. The frame is the same as a '05 but the only difference between the '04 and '05 frame would be the triple trees. The trees on the '05 are different because of the inverted forks. And yes, your motor is an '04 motor. I also don't know why they went back two years, when they shoulda kept the '05 for the R6S. I actually had a nice laugh one day at my dealership regarding the S model. Those guys didn't know **** about it. They said it's basically an '05. I said the forks are from '04. They said, yeah, besides those. Then i looked at th e radiator and saw one fan. Told them. Yeah, besides that. Then i started asking them about the throttle bodies and ****. They didn't know anything. I walked away laughing at 'em.

The front tire is even a 120/60, not 120/70 like an '05.

Even if it is an 04, it is still a nice bike. Maybe not worth as much as they advertise, but I wouldn't mind having one.

They're actually selling them for the same price as they did in '04.

I'd like to see the false advertising of the R6S. I know about the tach already.

I don't think it is false advertising, I think the dealers don't know what the **** they are talking about. Yami has nothing to do with that and you would have to fight the dealership itself, good luck with that.
