YZF600r vs CBR600F4i

So I'm strongly considering getting a used 600r for my first bike. Has anyone owned or ridden one and what do you think? What are your opinions versus the honda?

Can't say anything about the Honda, but I did get a 98 600r for my first bike about a month ago. I think it's a great starter bike, definitely plenty of power but you have to rev pretty high to get to it so it probably won't surprise you or get you in trouble. FYI mine has 15k, great condition, and a few aftermarket parts (seat, pipe, windscreen, see pics) and I got it for $3000. Also, MSF course? (HIGHLY recommended)

Cheers and good luck with shopping

I don't think either bike is something you should buy as a first bike...But...it's your money, do what you want.

A pocket bike can get you into trouble if you act a fool. Be safe. And take an MSF.

GM you are such a you can't say that you won't say anymore. It's Impossible!

Either bike would be a good starter bike. Stay in the 600cc and you'll be ok, just make sure you buy all the right gear like helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, etc and TAKE THE MSF COURSE!!!!

The CBR is a better race bike. The YZF is a better street bike.

Get the one you can afford and like the looks of the most. The rest isn't important to a new rider for the bikes are so close in performance.
