Interest in a TWF rally next year?

Not saying we have permission from Shan to do an official one, but just to see if we get a big group of TWFers up at the Gap one weekend next year around this time.

Yeah we'd probably be game.... we'd been saying once I'm riding for about another year, we'd love to go to the Dragon, so the timing would be just perfect.

You guys know I would be there. Officially or un unofficially. I might even take a extra day or two from work to hang with fellow TWF'ers if we get a crowd.

I know several longer loops with roads just as good for those that don't want to hang at the Gap or the Skyway all the time.

I moved this to every day ridding section with a redirect from off topic. Plus I stickied it for now.

That would take at least a week to hit all the good roads just in the general area. All summer to hit them all. This is like motorcycle heaven around here you know.

I've heard...thats why I MUST get down there. I wanna come for a week and ride as many roads as possible.

Like I've said before...my cousin goes down there every year with his Shadow buddies. They are coming down tomorrow as a matter of fact. So if nothing else I'll be down with him next year.

Do to the positive response, I am going to proceed unofficially to start looking for a weekend in the late may to early july range for 2007. See what kind of rates we can get. We want to try to get a block of cabins on a dead end street so we can have the party on the dead end of the street like the FZ1 guys did. Since we got a year to plan this and have several people that have been to various rallies, we should be able to do this one right. Unfortunately as an unofficial rally, I don't think we can get the sponsorship and prizes that other rallies have had.

Shan would have to approve of it and give permission to associate TWF with it.

yeah like jeeps said, it should be considered carefully. It's a lot of work to put one of these on and you don't want to rush into it.

Yeah man, I had an awesome time hanging out with R1 and company and meeting up with jeeps saturday even though traffic sucked. The SV rally kinda sucked most of the time because I don't post over there a lot so I was an outsider over there. I could tell it would be a lot more fun if you went to one where you were a regular on the board.

My concerns;
TWF is still a relatively small forum. Its members are scattered all over the country/world.
A date needs to be set and stuck too. Cant change for everybody that has a B-day party that week or what ever.
Then the fun of setting up rentals and what not would be up to the individuals going. I'm sure we can get a discount on rooms and cabins with group rates but, that requires a serious deposit and very early registrations.
As for the Sponsorship of TWF with prizes and what ever is totally up to Shanman14 (TWF Administrator) We are still a small forum and growing every day but, TWF is free to all so not much bank to sponsor big prizes. Especially on short notice. This stuff takes years to get rolling on full scale rally size.

Vol,
Get what info you can about group rates and such. I know many of us are interested and will be at what ever date we set up.
